1954 NFL
The Cleveland Browns started the season 1-2, and it looked like their dominance in the Eastern Conference was beginning to wane. But, they finished the year winning 8 in a row, and losing their last game to their long time nemesis, the Detroit Lions. The Lions had a 7-game winning streak of their own, and they looked poised to beat the Browns again in the NFL Championship game for the third year in a row, after defeating the Browns in the last game of the regular season. However, the Browns surprised everyone with a 56-10 blowout over Detroit in the NFL Championship game.
